“I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all Thy wonders. I will be glad and exult in Thee; I will sing praise to Thy name, O Most High.” Psalms 9:1-2
Once again we have experienced the awesome faithfulness and goodness of our Lord. We have seen Him work in the lives of many both in Haiti and here at home. How much we have to be thankful for.
“When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which Thou hast ordained; What is man, that Thou dost take thought of him?” Psalms 8:3-4a
How humbled we are that God would choose to use us in His work in Haiti. What a rich blessing to be partnered with you in God’s work.
“The Lord also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” Psalms 9:9
The Lord has provided a home filled with love, compassion, physical and spiritual blessings for the poorest of the poor of His little ones. He supplies “sponsors” for His children, both in the orphanage and now also for the children in surrounding villages needing an education.
“He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him, and honor him. With a long life I will satisfy him, and let him behold My salvation.” Psalms 91:15-16
Praise God, we have had the joy of seeing many come to know Christ as their personal Savior this year, children of the orphanage and also many men and women from Tricotte and the surrounding villages.
“Whoever has the world’s goods, and beholds his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?” 1 John 3:17
One of the greatest blessings to us in Starfish Ministries is to see God provide for those in need. It is our belief that at the very onset of this ministry, God very specifically told us that we were to obey Him and He would provide all that was needed for HIS ministry. Consistently we see Him move hearts to supply needs throughout the country of Haiti, hearts that could only have been touched by Him and in turn blessed by Christ Himself.
Pastor Diogene has written a letter describing the suffering of many people in Haiti at this time. He is on the front lines every day and sees and experiences the tremendous poverty and needs. We attempt to send him money each month to help him meet some of these needs. Perhaps God would ask you to help us send relief. Your prayers, support in many ways is appreciated greatly.
With heartfelt thanks for your participation in this ministry,
Bernie and Sheryl
